Registration Refund and Cancellation Policy

Continuing Education:
This activity is awarded 4.75 contact hours of continuing nursing education. Completion of the post activity evaluation is required to obtain your certificate.

Provider Statement:
Minnesota Nurse Practitioners is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development designed to meet the Minnesota Board of Nursing continuing education requirements for 4.75 contact hours of continuing nursing education. However, the individual nurse is responsible for determining whether this activity meets the requirements for acceptable continuing education. 

In order to receive your CE Certificate, you must participate in the event and complete the evaluation.

Cancellation Policy: 
Keys to a Successful Transition into Advanced Practice Nursing: Now and in the Future cancellations must be requested via email to admin@mnnp.org by January 26, 2024. All cancellations are subject to a $15 processing fee. NO CANCELLATIONS will be accepted after January 26, 2024. Cancellation refunds will be issued within 1-3 weeks.

    Ann Hayden, DNP, APRN, FNP

    Ann Hayden, DNP, APRN, FNP, is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Minnesota, School of Nursing. She is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner - Advanced Practice Nurse. She completed her BSN at the University of Minnesota, School of Nursing, MSN at University of San Diego and DNP at the University of Minnesota, School of Nursing. Her expertise is cardiology, cardiac surgery, heart and lung transplantation and prevention. She is currently working one day per week in the Rasmussen CV Prevention Clinic at M Health Fairview Clinics. Her areas of interest include health promotion, cardiovascular prevention and integrative therapies.

    Mariann Johnson, Mindfulness and Wellbeing Instructor, University of Minnesota Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing

    Mariann Johnson is a wellbeing and mindfulness instructor for the University of Minnesota’s Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing. She has studied and practiced mindfulness meditation for over 25 years and is a certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction instructor through Brown University’s Mindfulness Center. Before dedicating her professional life to teaching mindfulness, Mariann served as an organization development consultant and mediator, working with leaders of Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and nonprofit organizations. Her writings on mindful leadership have appeared in the Huffington Post and Mindful Magazine.

    Nick Morgan is an accomplished attorney with a focus on advocacy and strategic planning on behalf of clients.

    Nick graduated from Princeton University in 2009 with a degree in political science. He then spent three years in Washington, D.C. working in the private sector, a Congressional Office, and the White House. He then came back to Minnesota to attend the University of St. Thomas School of Law. He graduated in 2015 and began practicing in Minnesota focusing on advocacy and general litigation. Nick currently works at Lewis Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith, LLP focusing on product liability litigation. Nick is passionate about developing winning strategies both in the courtroom and at the negotiating table.

    Nick lives in St. Louis Park, Minnesota with his wife Andrea and daughter Eleanor. He enjoys reading biographies, sports and discovering new breweries and restaurants in the Twin Cities.

    Debra L. Topham, Board of Nursing Director of Practice and Compliance

    Dr. Topham has been a nurse for far too long. She began her career after graduating with her BSN from Wichita State University and taking a one-way ticket to work at South Miami Hospital’s Surgical Intensive Care Unit providing care to post-cardiac surgery and trauma patients. Over the years, she has obtained her MS in Nursing (Texas Women’s University), PhD in Nursing (UT at Austin), and JD (William Mitchell College of Law). She had been a bedside nurse, clinical nurse specialist, professor (numerous universities), Director of CNS Program (Oregon Health Science University), clinical risk manager, attorney, Director of Regulatory and Compliance, and now, Director of Nursing Practice and Compliance for the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Dr. Topham has conducted independent research mostly in the area of HIV/AIDs prevention, authored numerous articles and chapters in nursing textbooks, spoken at local, national, and international conferences and served as an expert witness in numerous medical malpractice cases involving nursing care.

    Panel Discussion - Transitioning into the APN Role

    Zane Dye, DNP, APRN, FNP-C Dr. Zane Dye is a Family Nurse Practitioner working in primary care in Fridley MN. He attended the University of MN for his DNP, graduating in May of 2023. Prior to attending school, he served as an ICU and trauma nurse for the U.S. Army. He lives in the southern MSP suburbs with his family and golden retrievers. Steven Brokner, DNP, ARPN, PMHNP, Steve Broker is a 2023 graduate of the DNP-PMHNP program at St. Scholastica. He obtained a position at Essentia Health before graduation in March 2023. After graduating in May, he sat for his boards on June 27th and started as a practicing NP on August 28th. He splits his time and works with adults Monday and Tuesday in the Essentia Health Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic and across the lifespan on the psychiatric consult liaison service which serves eight hospitals and emergency rooms Wednesday through Friday. He currently works a 1.0 FTE between the two positions. Ashley Radtke, DNP, APRN, AGPCNP, Ashley Radtke recently graduated from The College of Saint Scholastica in May of 2023 with her degree DNP degree in Adult Geriatric's Primary Care. She is currently working with St. Lukes Community Care team where she rounds at various skilled nursing, short term rehab, and assisted living facilities. She is excited to share her experiences with you and or talk about her new Corgi Winston.
