University of Minnesota Physicians seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the MHealth Fairview Pre-Operative Assessment team. In this role, you will work with a collaborative team of physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and administrative staff to deliver comprehensive pre-operative assessment and recommendations to optimize patients’ health prior to surgery. This position in outpatient focused and does not have inpatient responsibilities.

In this role, you will provide:

  • Outpatient care for a variety of patients with complex medical comorbidities and past health history.
  • Provide ongoing collaboration with referring surgical specialists regarding the medical optimization prior to surgery
  • Independently provide assessment, recommendations and education to patients


  • 8 or 10 hour shifts (40 hours per week for full time)
  • Monday-Friday only with no nights or weekends
  • No weekend or holiday requirement

We’re Looking For a PA or NP Who Is:

  • A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.
  • Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
  • Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP’s).
  • Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
