They are working on a proposal that would call for a legislative report asking for information on the primary care workforce, current MN investment in primary care, as well as data on how health care is currently being paid for in our state: fee for service, value-based payments, capitation, etc. They believe, based on recommendations in the NASEM report (linked below), that establishing this baseline will help us not only assess MN’s primary care infrastructure, but will set us up to make further proposals to ensure primary care is well positioned to meet the needs of Minnesotans.
