Fellowship Program available for new NPs in Oncology

Posted over 1 year ago by Minnesota Nurse Practitioners

The Department of Nursing at The University of Texas at MD Anderson Cancer Center is pleased to announce that the Post Graduate Fellowship in Oncology Nursing (APRN Fellowship) program is now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 fellowship program, which begins on September 2023.

The fellowship is a year-long program in which new nurse practitioners, or nurse practitioners new to oncology, spend a year of education and clinical training  to learn all aspects of treatment, care and management of the complex cancer patient. The fellowship is an excellent learning opportunity for nurse practitioners with a passion for oncology and is part of our mission to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that support educating trainees and professionals.

Fellows are full-time employees of MD Anderson and receive a salary competitive for an advanced practice registered nurse. Although many fellows continue practicing at MD Anderson after the fellowship, there is no requirement for fellows to remain at MD Anderson. There are 4 fellowship positions available for 2023-2024 cohort.

We are reaching out to you  to ensure that students who may have an interest in the fellowship receive information and a contact person.  The attached PDF file and program website: www.mdanderson.org/APRNFellowship provide more information regarding the fellowship program and the application process.  Please share this information with faculty and any students you feel may be interested.  The application deadline is November 30, 2022.
